With soaring temperatures, public asked to allow extra journey time travelling by bus or train
Translink services are experiencing very high volumes of passengers, particularly on busy coastal routes. Rail services are also subject to speed restrictions and subsequent delays due to the high track temperatures.
Richard Knox, General Manager for Rail said, “We know more people want to get out and enjoy the weather however, we are appealing to the public to allow more time for their journey.
“Where possible passengers should consider if their journey is completely necessary over the coming days.
“In addition, passengers are reminded it is mandatory to wear a face covering in respect of others unless exempt themselves. Also, to regularly use the hand sanitisers at stations and use cashless payments.
“Passengers should check our website www.translink.co.uk, use the journey planner or follow us on social media for the latest travel updates.
“We would like to thank all our passengers for their patience and understanding at this time”, Richard concluded.
