Wilson urges pay parity for Moy Park workers

SDLP Dunsilly Councillor Ryan Wilson has urged Moy Park to listen to its workers in Randalstown who are undertaking strike action to win pay parity with colleagues on other sites in Northern Ireland.

Cllr. Wilson said:

“I stand fully behind Moy Park workers today as they begin their second week of strike action in an attempt to secure pay parity with their counterparts at other sites across the North and I was proud to join them on the picket line on Monday morning.

“The very least that workers deserve is to be paid fairly and workers at this site in Randalstown are right to demand pay rates consistent with their colleagues elsewhere.

“I would urge Moy Park to get around the table with its workers and ensure that they are afforded pay parity with those on other sites, and that there is no loss of holiday or day premiums as a result.

“A resolution is vital to ensure that workers can get back to their jobs which help to provide feed for thousands of farms across Northern Ireland.

“The SDLP will continue to stand with workers so that everyone has the fair pay, terms and conditions that they should be able to expect at their place of work.”
