The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning saying heavy rain is likely to affect parts of Northern Ireland as the new week begins, bringing disruption to travel.

The warning is active from 03:00 on Monday morning, 13th November, until 14:00 on Monday afternoon. Drivers are urged to take care on the roads during the morning commute.

A spokesperson for the Met Office commented:

"An area of heavy rain is expected to sweep northeastwards across Northern Ireland during Monday morning.

"The rain is expected to be especially heavy in eastern parts where up to 40 mm of rain could accumulate within 6 hours. Much drier conditions are expected to follow during the afternoon."
