Weather warning issued for strong wind

After storms impacted areas of Northern Ireland over the last two days, the Met Office has issued a further yellow weather warning from noon tomorrow (Sunday 20 February) through to noon on Monday.


A Met Office spokesperson said:


“Strong winds are expected to develop during Sunday afternoon across Northern Ireland and southwest Scotland, extending into parts of northwest England and north Wales during the evening, with inland areas likely to see gusts of 50-60 mph and up to 70 mph on exposed coasts and hills.



“However, a swathe of very strong winds is possible for a time overnight Sunday into Monday morning, bringing a chance of inland gusts of 60-70 mph and 80 mph on exposed coasts and hills.”
