WATCH | Police appeal for information on driver who knocked down woman in her 80’s




The Police Service of Northern Ireland is investigating an incident of careless driving causing grievous bodily injury, and failure to report, during which a woman in her 80’s was knocked down in Larne on 1 December 2021.

The investigation was discussed on Tuesday night’s BBC Northern Ireland Crime NI television programme.



A police spokesperson said:


“At approximately 5:32pm, were contacted by the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service after a woman in her 80s was knocked down by a vehicle on the Linn Road.


“The driver assisted the woman to her nearby home address and waited until an ambulance arrived. By the time the police had arrived the driver had left the premises.



“The injured woman was then brought to Antrim Area Hospital where she was treated for her injuries. No further information on the collision or offender has been provided to us.


“We are appealing to anyone with information to come forward to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
