VIDEO | Coastguard urges public to take care as high tide and Storm Franklin batters coast



The Coleraine Coastguard team has issued and warning this morning (Monday 21 February) and urged the public to take care especially around coastal waters where high tide combined with the impact of Storm Franklin have created very dangerous conditions.

A very shared by the team (below) shows waves rolling right up to Harry’s Shack on the Portstewart Strand.

A spokesperson for Coleraine Coastguard said:


“This is the scene at Portstewart Strand this morning as high tide is approaching.



“Please take care if you are out near the coast today. It takes very little depth of water to be swept off your feet.


“No photograph is worth risking your life for.


“The Coleraine team will be carrying out safety patrols again today. If you see anyone in difficulty, dial 999 COASTGUARD.”
