Chris commented:
“UDS Freight approached Mid and East Antrim Borough Council in September 2022 as we were looking for a property in Ballymena to accommodate our large scale expansion and growth plans.
“Council used a simple dedicated Property Request System, and once submitted, the Council team conducted an extensive search on behalf of UDS Freight for suitable properties in the Borough based on our requirements. Within a few days, the team presented us with a list of options.”
Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Alderman Gerardine Mulvenna with Chris Hutchinson and Lauren Hutchinson of UDS Freight.
Chris continued:
“We investigated the offering at the Logistics Building at Galgorm and in late 2022, UDS Freight agreed a long-term lease with the owners and took up residence at the Logistics Building in Spring 2023.”
Chris added:
“In addition to the support on property, we have also benefited from Council support including mentoring assistance focused on financial forecasting and growth projections and digital marketing mentoring through the Digital Boost programme which provided us with knowledge to grow our Social Media presence. Furthermore, with help from the Council we recently secured a tenant to sub-let space which we do not require for our own operations at this time.”
The logistics building on Fenaghy Road, Galgorm offers an impressive 85,000sq ft location encompassing a large warehouse with four electric roller shutter bays, ground and first floor offices, training rooms, workshops, WC and kitchen facilities alongside dedicated car parking, all contained within a secure site.
In the short term UDS Freight are utilising part of the site so opportunities exist to licence available space from UDS Freight. A number of tenants have already taken up residence in the Logistics Building but there is additional space remaining.
