Two people arrested after man approaches two houses armed with hatchet in Ballymena

Police have arrested a man following a report of an altercation in the Castle Gardens area of Ballymena on Thursday 6th February.


It was reported at around 2.45pm that a man had approached two houses in the area, armed with a hatchet.



The 58-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including common assault, possession of an offensive weapon with intent and criminal damage.


A second man, a 43-year-old, was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class C controlled drug.


They both remain in police custody at this time.
