Two men charged with attempted theft after ATM alarm in Kells


Detectives have charged two men, aged 24 and 28, following an alarm activation at an ATM in Main Street, Kells in the early hours of Friday, March 10th.


Both men have been charged with attempted theft and burglary with intent to steal and are expected to appear before Ballymena Magistrate's Court on Saturday, March 11.



Police were alerted to an alarm activation at an ATM machine in Main Street, Kells at around 2am on Friday and apprehended the men a short distance from the scene after police tracked their movements to a house in the Fernisky Road area following the incident. Both were arrested on suspicion of attempted theft.


As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
