Two men charged over Ballymena disorder as arrest total rises to 33

Police have confirmed that two further individuals have been charged in connection with recent street disorder in Ballymena, bringing the total number of arrests made across Northern Ireland to 33.
Officers from the Public Order Enquiry Team have charged a 27-year-old man with riotous behaviour. He is scheduled to appear before Ballymena Magistrates’ Court this morning, Thursday 19 June.
In a separate development, detectives investigating incidents of disorder in Ballymena on Wednesday 18 June charged a 19-year-old man with riot. He appeared before Coleraine Magistrates’ Court on the same day.
The PSNI added that, as per standard legal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
This latest development comes amid an ongoing police response to widespread unrest in parts of Ballymena and other areas across Northern Ireland in recent weeks.
The authorities have reiterated their commitment to investigating all incidents thoroughly and bringing those responsible to justice.
“This brings the total number of arrests made in connection to the recent street disorder in Ballymena and across Northern Ireland to 33,” the spokesperson confirmed.
Police continue to urge members of the public who may have witnessed the disorder or who hold relevant information to come forward to assist with ongoing investigations.
