Translink announces cool line-up of local talent for ‘Big Freeze Festival’

To celebrate frozen fares across its services, Translink has announced the launch of its ‘Big Freeze Festival’.

Bringing together a host of local musicians and entertainers, Translink will celebrate ‘Frozen Fridays’ over the coming weeks in stations across its network.

The festival promises a cool line-up of local performers including local musical talents Ceev, Harry Lambert and Aoife Lyttle.

Some lucky passengers will also be in for an ice-cold treat from Dale Farm, who will be popping up at select locations to hand out samples of their famous ‘Cool Crew’ ice lollies.

The festival will be rounded off with a fantastic online giveaway where passengers will be in with a chance of winning up to £250 worth of prizes including travel passes, enterprise tickets, high street vouchers and local days out.

David Cowan, Director of Commercial Operations for Translink said:

“As more and more people return to our services, whether travelling to work, visiting friends and family or exploring days out across Northern Ireland, we wanted to spread the message about our frozen fares which continue to offer great value, particularly at a time when household budgets feel squeezed.

“Already this year we’ve rolled out over 100 zero emission buses, introduced contactless technology, and have more capacity than ever on our rail network thanks to our new walkthrough trains. We’re excited for passengers to get back on board and what better way to celebrate that than with entertainment to enhance theexperiences within our stations.”
