Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service has responded on Friday afternoon (29 July) after an agricultural baler caught fire on the Galgorm Road, in Ballymena.
Two crews from Ballymena Fire Station were tasked to the scene between Gracehill and Ahoghill, shortly after 3pm. Firefighters managed to get the tractor unhooked from the the baler unit.
There was major traffic disruption in the area as crews worked to extinguish the blaze and clear the road.
A spokesperson for NIFRS commented:
“Firefighters used two jets and four beaters to extinguish the fire. The incident was dealt with by 4.01pm. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental ignition.”
