It was all smiles and cheers last weekend as the staff at Harryville Primary School celebrated their latest top marks, being awarded a Gold Star Award for Outstanding Work in Education.
The Ballymena school has continued to excel with a team of dedicated staff members, under the leadership of Principal Lesley Meikle, committed to offering children the best possible educational experience while recognising the vital importance of a strong pastoral and community orientated ethos.
Mrs Meikle and Mrs Sands accepted the award on behalf of all the staff at the Family First NI awards ceremony held in Titanic Belfast on Saturday, June 11.
Speaking to Love Ballymena following the awards ceremony, Principal Lesley Meikle said:
“Our school team promotes a positive nurturing environment where each child is loved, challenged to reach their full potential and are made to feel and know that they are special.
“We value and embrace individuality, culture and diversity. Our day to day running focuses on being autism friendly, providing a welcome for all children, using the Take 5 and the Solihull approach to learning.”
Lesley added:
“I am extremely proud of the work my staff do with each and every child in school. They go well beyond the requirements of their jobs in sometimes very difficult situations.”
