STAFF RECOMMENDATION…

The Wedding Party - Cathy Kelly

ree

Four sisters, each with decades of secrets, return to their Childhood home for a wedding party. Cathy Kelly's inevitable warmth really comes through in this book, making it perfect for those wanting a light summery read to lay out in the garden with.

YOUNG ADULT BOOK CLUB…

ree

The next meeting of Young Adult Book Club will be on Friday 19th August at 4pm.

This Book Club covers the 13-18 year old age group. We will be reading 'The Agathas' by Kathleen Glasgow and Liz Lawson. The authors of Girl in Pieces and The Lucky Ones combine forces to deliver a thrilling slice of teen crime set in a sleepy seaside town as two friends obsessed with Agatha Christie investigate the murder of the most popular girl in their school.

This is a friendly, informal group so everyone is welcome, especially any newcomers. We look forward to seeing you!

All of our Book Clubs take place monthly, so feel free to come as much or as little as you want.

KIDS BOOK CLUB…

ree

The next meeting of our Kids Book Club will be on Friday 26th August at 4pm.

This Book Club covers the 9-12 age group.

We will be reading 'Nura and the Immortal Palace' by M.T. Khan. This is a fantastic story, steeped in the magic of Muslim folklore, Khan's enchanting children's debut sends our hero into a richly imagined underground world where the trickster jinns hold sway.

This is quite a newly established Book Club, so we especially welcome newcomers to this one, and make sure to bring a friend along!

SATURDAY STORYTIME…

ree

Our next Saturday Storytime will take place on Saturday 13th August at 12pm.

The story will be 'The Creature Choir' by David Walliams. This is a really fun read all about an entertaining creature choir who sing their hearts out! There will be some colouring in afterwards.

As always, no booking is required and this is a completely free event. We look forward to seeing everyone there.
