Three people arrested by detectives investigating burglaries and thefts in Arden Peninsula


Detectives investigating a series of burglaries and thefts in the Ards Peninsula area between August 9 and August 12 have arrested two men and a women.


Detective Sergeant Armstrong said:


"We are investigating a number of burglaries and thefts at addresses in the Ballyeasborough Road, Glastry Road, Ballyhemlin Road and Ballygelagh Road areas of Kircubbin and the Killaughey Road area of Donaghadee, during which scrap metal and other items were taken.


"The two men, aged 37 and 31, and the 45-year-old woman were arrested in Belfast yesterday (Thursday, August 12) and they remain in custody, helping with enquiries.


"We are appealing for any witnesses who may have noticed any suspicious activity during the hours of darkness in the Kircubbin, Cloughey, Portavogie and Donaghadee areas between August 9 and August 12 to come forward.


"We are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have seen a red van in the area during this timeframe.


"The number to call is 101, quoting reference 1404 of 11/08/21 if you have any information which could help with our enquiries.
