Thousands raised for Children’s Heartbeat Trust by Co Antrim woman in memory of son

Cheque presentation to Children’s Heartbeat Trust

Local woman Devina Holmes was delighted to present a cheque this week to Children's Heartbeat Trust for an amazing £13,011.93.

The money was raised with the help of The Bonkers Crew NI in memory of Devina’s little boy, Jordan, who sadly passed away when he was just over four-months-old. Jordan would have been 30 this year.

Devina’s friends from The Bonkers Crew NI, along with family members jumped at the chance to help with her fundraising by taking part in the Portrush Raft Race which was held recently. The team managed to achieve the fastest time in the 30 year history of the event!

The dedicated fundraisers then took part in a brilliant fun street collection in Portglenone where they raised over £5,500 in just one day.

Commenting following the presentation of the cheque, Devina said:

"I would like to thank all the volunteer street collectors, local businesses and community who were so generous - to every one who stopped their vehicle to donate, and to every one who gave on our online GoFundMe page. Finally to my family and friends, none of this would have been possible without your help and time."

Devina added:

"The exact amount raised (£13,011.93) is a special number to us personally because this represents Jordan's date of birth - 13/11/93."
