THIS WEEKEND | Ballymena Mini Twelfth Parade

The annual Mini-Twelfth parade, hosted by Ballymena District LOL No 8, is set to take place this weekend in Ballymena town centre.


Ahead of the parade, on Thursday evening (23 June) members erected the arch on Henry Street, in the Harryville area of the town.


Police have advised motorists that traffic disruption is expected as the procession sets off on Saturday afternoon at 3:30pm, and expected to finish around 5:30pm.



A police spokesperson commented:


“Please be mindful that there will be severe traffic disruption in and around these times particularly in Harryville and Town Centre (including Mount Street and Thomas Street). There may also some disruption to vehicles exiting the Tower Centre carpark.”



The route of the parade is as follows:


Wakehurst Road - Queen Street - Salisbury Square - Harryville Bridge - Waveney Road - Galgorm Road - North Road - Audley Roundabout - Ballymoney Road - Mount Street - Thomas Street - Fairhill Roundabout - Market Road - Broughshane Street - Broadway - Church Street - Bridge Street - Harryville Bridge - Henry Street - Larne Street - Larne Road - Wakehurst Road.


According to the Parade’s Commission website, organisers are expecting 18 bands to be participating.
