Belfast Castle, County Antrim
Air Ambulance Northern Ireland are calling on brave individuals to take on their festively fun Santa Abseil on Sunday 10th December.
Set to take place on the beautiful grounds at Belfast Castle, participants will don their Christmas knit for a 100ft abseil down the castle tower, all for a great cause.
The funds raised by taking part, will help keep the medical crew in the air, attending to those seriously ill or injured patients across NI.
The charity Air Ambulance NI, in partnership with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, provides the one and only Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) for Northern Ireland. On average, the team attend to two patients each day, flying at an average of 180mph, direct to the patient. The doctor and paramedic on board, bring emergency care to the scene of the incident, delivery interventions that can be lifesaving.

Amy Henshaw, Area Fundraising Manager at the charity said:
"We are very excited to be at Belfast Castle again this year for the popular Santa Abseil. This challenge is aimed at those wanting to do something amazing for charity this Christmas, and what better way than braving a 100ft abseil in your favourite festive outfit!
"We hope people can get involved whether you are an individual looking to take part, a group of friends, work colleagues or you and your family, then we would love to hear from you.
"Currently, it costs £6,850 a day to keep the service going, and through participation in events like this, sufficient funds can be raised for the helicopter and HEMS crew to reach and deliver critical care to a future patient.
"We encourage you to get involved this Christmas and sign up, I will be on hand to help you with your fundraising and everyone participating will get an official Air Ambulance NI T-shirt for their abseil."
