Sir Mo, who just last weekend smashed a new one-hour world record in Brussels, shared his anticipation when he met with race organisers this morning.

Four-time Olympic champion runner Sir Mo Farah says he is ‘really excited’ to take in the stunning Mid and East Antrim coastline when he gears up for tomorrow’s Antrim Coast Half Marathon.

The race will be live streamed via the BBC from 8am tomorrow, and will also be available on the Antrim Coast Half Marathon website:

Sir Mo said he was really excited to be running along the breathtaking Antrim Coast, which takes in stunning views along a route dubbed ‘One of the top 5 greatest drives on earth’ by Lonely Planet.

Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Cllr Peter Johnston, said he was delighted to meet the world champion in person earlier today.

“It was a great honour to welcome Sir Mo to Mid and East Antrim!

“To have a world champion and sporting hero competing in a local event is a fantastic advertisement for the borough and the Antrim Coast.

“I would like to encourage everyone to tune in tomorrow from home for the live stream of the race, and can’t wait to see if Sir Mo sets another record right here in Mid and East Antrim.”
