Detectives investigating the murder of Wayne Reid in Coleraine have arrested two further women, bringing the total number of people currently in police custody to seven.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland confirmed that a 38-year-old woman and a 45-year-old woman were arrested today, Saturday 17 January, on suspicion of murder.

Police have also confirmed that five other people previously arrested in connection with the investigation remain in custody at this time.

The arrests form part of an ongoing investigation by detectives from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team into the death of Mr Reid, who was found dead at an address in the Society Court area of Coleraine earlier this month.

Detectives have previously appealed for information relating to events in the Society Court and Society Street areas between Thursday 8 January and Saturday 10 January, as they continue to work to establish the full circumstances surrounding Mr Reid’s death.

The investigation remains ongoing.
