The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) are currently assisting An Garda Síochána in a cross-border effort to locate George Brennan, a 38-year-old man reported missing from County Mayo in the Republic of Ireland.

Mr Brennan has been missing for two weeks, last seen on Wednesday, 2 April, prompting growing concern for his safety.

Mr Brennan is understood to have travelled to Northern Ireland, and may have potential links to the Causeway Coast and Glens and Mid and East Antrim areas.

The PSNI is appealing to the public for any information that could help trace his whereabouts, urging anyone with details to contact them on 101, quoting reference number 831 of 12/04/25.

In a heartfelt statement, Mr Brennan’s family expressed their gratitude for the ongoing efforts of the PSNI and local Search and Rescue teams.

“George has now been missing for two weeks, since Wednesday 2nd April,” the family said. “The PSNI and local Search and Rescue teams are still working hard to find him, and we’re very grateful for all the support so far.”

The family has issued a specific appeal to residents in towns and villages near Ballycastle, where Mr Brennan is believed to have been on the morning of 2 April.

They suspect he may have left the area that day, possibly travelling by foot, hitchhiking, or using public transport. “If anyone saw him or gave someone a lift that day, please let us know,” they urged. “Even the smallest detail could help.”

To facilitate information sharing, a dedicated room has been established at the Marine Hotel in Ballycastle, where members of the public can visit to provide any details, no matter how minor. The family has also called for the appeal to be widely shared across social media platforms and community groups to maximise its reach.

As the search continues, Mr Brennan’s family remains hopeful that new leads will emerge. They have asked the public to remain vigilant and to report any information promptly, stressing that even seemingly insignificant observations could prove vital in bringing George home safely.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the PSNI on 101, quoting reference number 831 of 12/04/25, or to visit the information room at the Marine Hotel in Ballycastle.

The public is also urged to share this appeal widely to ensure it reaches as many people as possible, in the hope that someone, somewhere, holds the key to finding George Brennan.
