Resurfacing works at Portglenone welcomed by rural community

The community have welcomed a resurfacing scheme at the Mount Stafford Road, Portglenone.

Originally a 400m stretch of the road was to be resurfaced but after a request from a local resident and the intervention of Bannside Alderman Stewart McDonald, the Department for Infrastructure extended this to include around 800m of the road.

Commenting on the works, TUV Bannside Alderman Stewart McDonald said:

“I welcome the fact that Road Service have today carried out some much needed work on Mount Stafford Road, Portglenone.

“Under the original plan some 400 meters of the road was to be resurfaced but a local resident contacted me while the work was ongoing to say that he did not see why an additional section of the road could not be resurfaced as well.”
