PSNI charges 26-year-old man with riot as disorder investigation progresses

Officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s (PSNI) Public Order Enquiry Team have charged a 26-year-old man in connection with recent disorder, as part of a continuing investigation into public disturbances across the region.
The man has been charged with riot and is scheduled to appear before Coleraine Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 23rd June.
A PSNI spokesperson confirmed the development, stating:
“Officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Public Order Enquiry Team investigating recent disorder have charged a 26-year-old man to court.”
The force also noted that, as with all cases of this nature:
“As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.”
This latest charge brings the total number of arrests relating to the ongoing investigation to 36.
Additionally, police have confirmed that two other men, who were also arrested on Friday, have already been brought before the courts. A 42-year-old man was charged with intentionally encouraging or assisting riot, while a 54-year-old man has also been charged with riot. Both individuals appeared before Ballymena Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 21st June.
The PSNI’s Public Order Enquiry Team continues to investigate and make further arrests as necessary.
