Victim of road traffic collision: 31-year-old Matthew McIlroy
The man who died following a single-vehicle collision in Ballyclare on Friday evening has been named by police as 31-year-old Matthew McIlroy, from the County Antrim area.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Green Road at around 6.45pm on Friday, June 26, following reports that a black Audi A5 had crashed and overturned.
Officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland attended alongside colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service.
Sadly, Mr McIlroy was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police continue investigation into fatal collision
Detectives from the Collision Investigation Unit are continuing enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have information that could assist investigators, to come forward.
Officers are particularly keen to hear from motorists who may have been travelling in the Green Road area around the time of the incident and who may have captured relevant dash-cam footage.

Anyone who can assist the investigation is asked to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference number 1619 of 26/06/26.
