Police name 21-year-old Josh McKnight as man killed in Banbridge road collision

Police have named the young man who died following a road traffic collision near Banbridge on Friday morning as 21-year-old Josh McKnight from the Loughbrickland area.
Josh died at the scene of a single-vehicle collision involving a Polaris Ranger on Old Mill Road on Friday 9 October.
The collision was reported to police shortly after 5.50am, with officers and other emergency services attending. Despite their response, the young driver died at the scene.
Police renew appeal for information
Detective Inspector Stewart, from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Collision Investigation Unit, said:
“Shortly after 5.50am, we received a report of a single vehicle collision in the Old Mill Road area.
“Officers along with colleagues from other emergency services attended, but sadly the driver died at the scene.
“I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or to anyone with dash-cam or other footage that could assist with the investigation, to contact detectives using the witness appeal form at www.reporting.psni.police.uk/appeals quoting reference 175 of 09/10/26 or call 101.”

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision and are asking anyone who was travelling in the Old Mill Road area around the time of the incident to consider whether they may have information or footage that could assist.
