Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a man at a residential property in Ballymena in the early hours of Thursday morning, 2 April.


It is understood the property is in the Harryville area of the town.


The incident, which unfolded overnight, has prompted an active police investigation as officers work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the man’s death.



At this stage, however, police have said the death is not being treated as suspicious.


Post-mortem examination to establish cause of death


A post-mortem examination is due to take place in due course to formally determine the cause of death.


While investigations remain ongoing, the initial assessment by police is that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death at this time.



The findings of the post-mortem are expected to help provide further clarity on exactly what happened at the property in the early hours of the morning.


Woman in her 20s arrested on drug-related offences


A woman, aged in her 20s, was arrested at the property on suspicion of a number of drug-related offences.


She remains in police custody.


Police have not at this stage released further details on the nature of the suspected offences, but the arrest forms part of the ongoing enquiries linked to the incident at the residential address.
