Police investigate attempted burglary at Antrim home

Police in Antrim are appealing for information following an attempted burglary at a property in the town.


Officers received a report at approximately 10.35pm on Thursday, 1st January, after damage was discovered at a house in the Randakstiwn Road area.


It is believed the property was entered sometime between 3.20pm and 10.30pm that same day.



During the incident, a patio door was damaged and a pane of glass smashed, allowing access to the home. While several rooms inside the property were ransacked, police have confirmed that nothing appears to have been taken.


The incident has caused understandable concern for residents in the area. Police are keen to reassure the local community that enquiries are ongoing.



Officers are asking anyone who may have noticed suspicious activity in the Randalstown Road area during the timeframe, or who may have relevant dash-cam, CCTV or doorbell footage, to come forward.
