Missing Antrim man Mervyn Fletcher
Police in Antrim have issued an appeal for information as concern grows for a 69-year-old man who has been reported missing.
Mervyn Fletcher was last seen on the Springfarm Road area of Antrim between midday and 2pm on Wednesday 28 January. Officers say efforts to locate him have so far been unsuccessful and they are urging the public to assist.
Inspector Boyd said:
“Mervyn was last seen on the Springfarm Road in Antrim between midday and 2pm on Wednesday 28th January.
“Mervyn is described as being approximately 5’5” tall with short fair hair and is of heavy build.
“We would ask Mervyn or anyone who knows of his whereabouts to contact police to let us know he is safe.
“We would ask residents in the area to check any sheds or outbuildings, and also to check any CCTV or doorbell footage they may have recorded which could assist with our enquiries. Likewise, motorists who were travelling in the area on Wednesday, are asked to review any dash-cam footage they may have.”
Police have emphasised that even small details could prove crucial, particularly footage captured unintentionally by home security systems or passing vehicles.
Inspector Boyd added that anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, is encouraged to come forward.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact police in Antrim on 101, quoting reference number 1314 29/01/26. A report can also be submitted online using the non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.”
The appeal comes as concern continues to grow for Mr Fletcher’s welfare, with officers keen to ensure he is safe and well.
Members of the public are urged to share the appeal and remain vigilant, particularly those who were in or around the Springfarm Road area during the times specified.
