Police charge three men after Ballymoney Road incident on St Patrick’s Day
Detectives investigating an incident in the Ballymoney Road area of Ballymena on the night of Wednesday 17 March have charged three men to appear before court.
One man, aged 30, has been charged with a number of offences, including attempting to cause grievous bodily harm by dangerous driving. He is expected to appear before Coleraine Magistrates’ Court today (Friday 19 March).
Two men, aged 27 and 36, are expected to appear before Ballymena Magistrates’ Court on 15 April. The 27-year-old is charged with possession of a Class B controlled drug and being concerned in the production of a Class B controlled drug. The 36-year-old is charged with criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
Two other men, 22 and 44, who were also arrested have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
