Police are appealing for information after two lorries were reported to have been set on fire in Larne during the early hours of Monday 14th July.

The incident occurred at around 4.15am in the Ballymena Road area, where emergency services responded to reports of two vehicles ablaze. One lorry was substantially damaged, while the second sustained only minor damage.

A spokesperson for the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) confirmed that the fire is being treated as a deliberate act of arson.

“At approximately 4.15am it was reported that the vehicles had been set alight sometime overnight in the Ballymena Road area.”

Authorities are urging members of the public who may have seen suspicious activity in the area overnight or who may possess CCTV, dashcam, or other relevant footage to come forward and assist with the investigation.

“Anyone who may have witnessed anyone suspicious in the area or anyone with CCTV or other footage that could assist with enquiries, is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference 296 14/07/25.”

Members of the public can also submit a report online using the PSNI’s non-emergency reporting form at: www.psni.police.uk/makeareport

The PSNI has not yet confirmed any arrests or identified any potential motives as enquiries remain ongoing.
