Police have issued an urgent public appeal as concern continues to grow for the welfare of a missing 21-year-old woman who has links to the Ballymena area.

Kayleigh Girvan was reported missing and is believed to have travelled to Belfast, specifically the Great Victoria Street area, on Sunday, 25 January. Officers say they are increasingly worried about her wellbeing and are asking the public to remain vigilant.

While Kayleigh is thought to have been in Belfast, police have confirmed that she has links to Ballymena and Lurgan, raising the possibility that she may have travelled through or been in those areas since she was last seen. She is also believed to have been in the company of a male.

Kayleigh is described as being of slim to medium build, with long dark hair and blue eyes, and is approximately 5ft tall. At this stage, police do not have a description of what she was wearing when she was last seen.

In a statement, police said:

“We are growing increasingly concerned for Kayleigh’s well-being, and would ask anyone who has seen her, or who has information which may help us to locate her, to contact police on 101, quoting reference 793 25/01/26.”

The appeal is being shared locally due to Kayleigh’s known connections to Ballymena, and members of the public in the Mid Antrim area are being encouraged to share the information widely in the hope that someone may recognise her or have seen her recently.

Police are urging anyone who may have CCTV, dashcam footage, or who was in the Great Victoria Street area of Belfast on Sunday, as well as anyone in Ballymena or Lurgan, to come forward if they have information that could assist officers.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference 793 25/01/26. If there is an immediate sighting or urgent concern, members of the public should dial 999.
