Police appeal for information after serious assault in Ballymena

Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious assault in the Ballymoney Street area of Ballymena during the early hours of Sunday morning.
The incident occurred at around 2.05am on Sunday, 22nd June, outside a licensed premises in the town centre.
Police were alerted to the assault, and officers, along with emergency medical personnel from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, quickly responded to the scene.
“One man was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries,” said Detective Chief Inspector Neil McGuinness, who is leading the investigation.
The condition of the victim has not been publicly disclosed at this time, but the investigation remains active as police work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

On Sunday morning an area surrounding the Grouse Bar at the top of Springwell Street in the town remains cordoned off and police forensic teams have attended.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the assault,” DCI McGuinness continued.
“I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the assault, or to anyone with CCTV or other footage that could assist with enquiries to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference 166 22/06/25.”
Members of the public who were in the Ballymoney Street area around the time of the incident are urged to come forward, especially if they have dashcam or mobile phone footage that may provide vital evidence.
