Police have issued an urgent appeal for information as concern grows for the welfare of a missing 85-year-old man.
John Burnim was last seen in the Crumlin Road area of north Belfast at around 9am on Tuesday, 30 December. Officers say they are increasingly concerned for his wellbeing and are asking the public to remain vigilant.
At the time he was last seen, John is believed to have been wearing a grey jumper, dress trousers and combat boots.
Given his age, any information, no matter how small it may seem, could be crucial in helping to trace his whereabouts. Members of the public are being urged to check sheds, gardens, outbuildings and CCTV or doorbell footage which may assist enquiries.
The appeal highlights the distressing impact missing person cases can have on families, particularly during the winter period, when cold conditions may pose additional risks for elderly individuals.
Anyone who has seen John Burnim, or who has information that could help locate him, is asked to contact police immediately on 101, quoting reference number 223 30/12/25. In an emergency, or if John is seen and believed to be in immediate danger, the public should dial 999.
