Plans have been lodged for two new drive-thru restaurants with associated parking areas in Toomebridge, County Antrim.
Endeavour Building Ltd is seeking planning permission for the new facilities at a site located on the Roguery Road.
Less than one mile from Toome village, and approximately 100 metres south of the Brecart Roundabout that provides access in both directions on the dualled Toome Bypass Section of the A6 Belfast to Derry / Londonderry Road, the location would provide convenience for travellers using the busy arterial route.
A report to planners states:
"By providing sufficient/wider range of catering facilities and services on the site, the proposed development is firmly aimed at road users travelling on the A6 Bypass Road who will require a range of modern Road Service Station Facilities, and minimises the need for travellers to divert from the strategic road network for comfort breaks."
The application comes as the latest proposal for the site, which previously had submissions considered for both a petrol filling station, and a single drive-thru restaurant.
The application will be considered in upcoming months by the Planning Committee of Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council.
