Party in the Park was no washout!

There may have been reduced numbers and some inclement weather, but this didn’t stop the fun at Party in The Park yesterday at the award winning Antrim Castle Gardens.

People flocked to the main event field where the stage was rocking with 4 hours of great music from Pink Tribute band and the sensational superstars of the 70’s with their tribute acts to Smokie and the Bay City Rollers. Bubbles the Clown and the Petting farm were a great hit with the children along with the funfair rides, circus performers and tasty treats from the food stalls.

In the Courtyard there was a more relaxed ambience as people enjoyed some global culture with Mexican dancers, Chinese dancers and the beats of the African drums. Amongst the audience was birthday girl Anna McSparron from London who celebrated her 7th birthday in style with her family.

The Mayor and Mayoress of Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough had a great day at Party in The Park meeting friends, old and new. Councillor Billy Webb said:

“It was good to see so many families and friends out enjoying themselves, there was a great party atmosphere and something on offer for all ages to enjoy”.
