
Damage caused overnight by graffiti to a mural of King Billy on Bridge, Ballymena, is being treated as ‘sectarian motivated hate crime,’ police have said.
Police attended the scene this morning.
A police spokesperson commented: “Police are appealing for information following a report of criminal damage at a wall in Ballymena.
“Shortly before 5:40am, it was reported to police that graffiti had been daubed on the wall at the corner of North Street and Bridge Street.
“Enquiries are continuing and at this stage, the incident is being treated as a sectarian motivated hate crime.
“Police would appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area to contact them on 101, quoting reference number 186 22/03/21. A report can be made using the online reporting form via www.psni.police.uk/makeareport.
