Jet2 has unveiled an exclusive new Norway and Fjords programme from Belfast International Airport for Summer 2027, giving travellers in Northern Ireland direct access to one of Europe’s most spectacular destinations for the first time through the airline.

The new programme means Jet2 will be the only airline operating flights from Belfast International Airport to the Norwegian city of Bergen during Summer 2027, opening up opportunities for holidaymakers seeking culture, scenery and adventure beyond the traditional sun destinations.

The announcement comes as demand continues to grow for experience-led travel, with more people looking to explore iconic locations, immerse themselves in local culture and enjoy unique holiday experiences.

Customers will be able to choose from two four-night breaks:

• Departing Thursday, 8 April 2027 and returning Monday, 12 April 2027

• Departing Thursday, 29 April 2027 and returning Monday, 3 May 2027

Gateway to Norway’s famous fjords

Bergen is widely regarded as the gateway to Norway’s world-famous fjords, offering visitors access to breathtaking landscapes including Aurlandsfjord and Nærøyfjord.

The city itself is renowned for its picturesque waterfront, mountain backdrop, vibrant restaurant and bar scene, and rich maritime history.

One of Bergen’s most recognisable attractions is Bryggen, the city’s historic harbour district and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The area reflects Bergen’s significance during the era of the Hanseatic League, with many of its distinctive wooden buildings carefully preserved using traditional methods and layouts.

For travellers from Northern Ireland, the new programme provides an opportunity to experience both a city break and some of Norway’s most dramatic natural scenery within a single trip.

Responding to changing travel trends

Jet2 says the programme has been introduced in response to growing demand from customers looking for more immersive and discovery-focused holidays.

The airline’s Discover More collection is designed around travellers seeking memorable experiences, whether that involves exploring historic cities, discovering local traditions and cuisine, or enjoying some of Europe’s most impressive landscapes.

Discover More packages to Bergen include:

• Jet2 flights

• 22kg hold luggage allowance

• Accommodation options

• ATOL protection

• A fjord cruise included

• A low £60 per person deposit

Customers opting for a Jet2CityBreak package will receive flights, accommodation, ATOL protection and 22kg hold luggage, while additional excursions and experiences can also be booked through Jet2experiences.

Steve Heapy, Chief Executive Officer of Jet2, said the company was pleased to bring the destination to the Northern Ireland market.

“We are delighted to be putting Bergen on sale from Belfast International Airport for Summer 27, giving customers and independent travel agents in Northern Ireland access to an exclusive programme to this magnificent destination.

“With its famous fjords, historic harbour district and superb city break appeal, Bergen is ideal for customers looking for culture, adventure and unforgettable scenery.”

The launch adds another destination to the growing range of routes available from Belfast International Airport and gives local travellers a direct way to experience one of Scandinavia’s most celebrated cities and landscapes without the need for connecting flights.

With departures already on sale, holidaymakers planning ahead for 2027 now have the opportunity to secure a place on what will be an exclusive route from Northern Ireland to Norway’s famous fjord region.
