The Junction Retail & Leisure Park looks set to welcome another new name to its ever-growing offering of businesses at the complex in Antrim.
A proposal has been lodged in recent weeks with the local council planning authority seeking permission for a change of use from Business Units (Class B) to Builders Merchant.
The proposal includes trader counter, installation of part mezzanine, erection of additional storage warehouse, external product display area, relocated vehicular site access, parking / servicing arrangements and all other associated site works.
Currently a longterm vacant business park in The Junction, Units 1-8 are earmarked to become the latest 25,000 square foot site for Northern Ireland company, Murdock Builders Merchant Ltd to serve Antrim and the wider area.
Murdock Builders Merchants was established in 1982 in Newry and celebrates 40 years in business this year, with plans for continued expansion and future additions to their 13 branches currently across the island of Ireland.
Existing branch locations include Banbridge, Castlereagh, Belfast (Duncrue and Kennedy Way), Londonderry, Dungannon, Enniskillen, Lisburn, Newtownards, and Dublin (Balbriggan, Ballymount, Finglas, and Kilbarrack).
The application will be considered in coming months by Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council's Planning Committee.
