To start their new season the Farmers Choir were honoured to be invited to a reception with the Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Alderman Gerardine Mulvenna.

The special reception was hosted by the mayor in recognition of the group's achievements to date, including being part of the Coronation Choir at Balmoral Castle earlier this year for the King.

Speaking at the event, Musical Director Barkley Thompson, said:

"The choir has grown and developed over the past year. It was an honour for our members to sing at the Kings Coronation Concert in May.  Our aim is to bring people together through the use of creative arts supporting those from the farming and rural communities."

The choir began in 2018 as a way of bringing farmers and members of the rural community together socially to sing and have a bit of craic.
