From today, any person arriving into Northern Ireland who has been in South Africa within the last 14 days must self-isolate for 10 days along with all members of their household.

Anyone already in Northern Ireland who has been in South Africa in the previous 14 days is asked to self-isolate along with household members until 10 days after they left South Africa.

The decision follows the release of further information from health authorities in South Africa reporting an outbreak of coronavirus, with a variant strain spreading in some provinces.

This is different to the new variant that has been detected in different parts of the UK, including NI.
