New online waste dashboard makes bin information easier to access across Mid and East Antrim

Residents across Mid and East Antrim can now check their bin collection information and report a missed collection through a streamlined online service launched by the borough council.
The new waste and recycling dashboard is intended to give households quicker access to everyday collection information, including real-time updates when services change.

Residents can use the dashboard from home to check their household waste collection service and report a bin that has not been collected.

Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Alderman Thomas Gordon, said:
“Our streamlined waste and recycling dashboard allows residents to keep up to date with their household waste collection service while supporting our wider sustainability targets.
“Designed with resident users in mind, the system offers a convenient platform to stay informed about waste collection services and report missed bin collections. It also improves information to residents, ensuring they can quickly know of any service changes in real-time.”
Other waste services remain available online
The council’s wider online service will continue to handle other waste-related requests that are not covered by the streamlined dashboard.
These include support with bulkier collections and Eco Rangers pick-ups, requests from elected members, ordering replacement bins and reporting missed trade waste collections.
Council investing in new bin lorries
The online changes follow plans confirmed earlier this year for a major upgrade of Mid and East Antrim’s refuse collection fleet.
The investment will introduce 32 new refuse collection vehicles, including 16-tonne vehicles intended for rural routes and larger 26-tonne vehicles for urban areas across Ballymena, Carrickfergus and Larne.
The council says the investment in vehicles and digital services forms part of its longer-term efforts to make waste collection more efficient and sustainable while maintaining frontline services for households and businesses.
Alderman Gordon added:
“Keeping Mid and East Antrim clean in an efficient, sustainable way is one of our top priorities and alongside investing in online and physical facilities that enhance people’s lives. We’re delighted to be making it simpler and easier for residents to access the information they need to manage waste and recycling services online, so they get the right support quickly and easily.”
For residents, the immediate change is a more direct route to two of the most common waste-service needs: finding up-to-date collection information and reporting a missed bin, without having to navigate the council’s wider range of online waste services.
