Castlewood Holiday Park, in Antrim, unveils new luxury accommodation and enhanced visitor facilities

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council has welcomed the completion of the 5-star Blair’s Castlewood Holiday Park development at Shane’s Castle, marking a significant investment in local tourism on the shores of Lough Neagh.

The expanded Castlewood Holiday Park introduces new luxury accommodation and enhanced visitor facilities, strengthening the borough’s position as a short-break destination in Northern Ireland.

New luxury lodges and glamping experiences launched

The park has unveiled three new luxury lodges, alongside additional glamping options including the Victory Lumiere pod and the ABI Stargazer cabin.

Castlewood Holiday Park now offers a broad range of accommodation to suit different visitor needs, including touring pitches, camping cabins, glamping pods, luxury caravans and holiday home ownership opportunities.

The expanded offering is designed to attract couples, families and touring visitors seeking countryside breaks close to local amenities.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Leah Kirkpatrick, attended the unveiling of the completed development.

She said:

“It was a pleasure to attend the unveiling of the completed Castlewood Holiday Park development. This is a significant investment in tourism for Antrim and Newtownabbey, and I look forward to seeing visitors experience all it has to offer.”

Boost for local tourism and economy

The Council has recognised the importance of sustained tourism investment in supporting the local economy and enhancing the borough’s visitor offering.

The completion of the 5-star development is expected to draw additional visitors to the area, benefiting nearby businesses, hospitality providers and retail outlets.

Located within the historic grounds of Shane’s Castle, the park also features outdoor attractions such as Castlewood Tree Top Adventure, woodland walks and family activity areas. Its position provides convenient access to popular attractions including Antrim Castle Gardens, Antrim town centre and The Junction Retail and Leisure Park.

By expanding its accommodation portfolio and visitor facilities, Castlewood Holiday Park adds further capacity to the borough’s tourism infrastructure, reinforcing Antrim’s growing reputation as a gateway destination along Lough Neagh.
