Man charged by detectives investigating murder of journalist Lyra McKee



Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Major Investigation Team, investigating the murder of 29 year old journalist Lyra McKee, who was shot dead by terrorists in Derry/Londonderry on 18 April 2019, have charged a 53-year-old man with riot, assault, and throwing petrol bombs.


He is expected to appear before Londonderry Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Monday 4 October.



As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.


A 44-year-old man also arrested on Friday (1st October) was released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.
