HOME BARGAINS submit plans for new 38,000 sq ft Store & Garden Centre in Ballymena

National discount chain, Home Bargains, has submitted plans for an exciting new-build 38,000 square foot Store and Garden Centre in the Harryville area Ballymena.

Although not yet officially announced, drawings lodged with Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, and stamped on 29 December 2021, show the building’s elevations with Home Bargains signage, as part of the planning application.

Architects drawings for the ‘proposed Retail Unit with Garden Centre, car parking, and service yard’ reveal a 30,000 square foot Store, with a 7,620 square foot Garden Centre area attached to the main unit.

The site which includes 145 car parking spaces, and 10 cycle parking spaces, is located at the former grounds of Ballymena Construction Company on Queen Street, in the Harryville area of the town.

All neighbours within 200m of the site will receive a copy of the planning notice and the key application documents mail dropped in their letter box. This will include the residents on Queen Street, Tome Street, River Terrace, Wakehurst Road, Wakehurst Park, Paradise Avenue, Lady Smith Terrace and Railway Street.

A dedicated and bespoke website will be made available for interested parties to view the consultation documentation and site proposals, planned to go live on Monday 31 January 2022 and will run for a period of 3 weeks, until Friday 18 February 2022.
