The unmistakable sound, colour and character of one of Britain’s most iconic cars will return to the grounds of Glenarm Castle this weekend as hundreds of enthusiasts gather for the second annual Minis at the Castle.
The good news for local families and motoring enthusiasts is that the event is completely free for the general public to attend.
Following a hugely successful debut event in 2025, organisers are preparing to welcome another impressive turnout of classic Mini owners and visitors to the spectacular Glenarm Castle Estate on Sunday, July 5.
Last year’s inaugural show saw more than 130 classic Minis fill the historic castle grounds, creating a striking display that attracted enthusiasts from across Northern Ireland and beyond.
Now, organisers are hoping to build on that success with an even bigger gathering in 2026 while raising money for an important local cause.
Classic Minis take centre stage at historic castle setting
Hosted by Norn Iron Classic Minis in partnership with Glenarm Castle Estate, the event is dedicated exclusively to classic Minis manufactured between 1959 and 2000.
The show celebrates one of the most recognisable and beloved cars ever produced, with owners expected to travel from across the region to showcase painstaking restorations, cherished originals and highly personalised examples of the motoring icon.

Unlike many outdoor vehicle events, organisers have confirmed that all display vehicles this year will be positioned on hard-standing surfaces within Glenarm Castle’s courtyards, removing concerns about wet weather or muddy ground conditions.
The picturesque setting of the castle estate, combined with rows of colourful classic Minis, is expected to provide a memorable backdrop for both participants and spectators alike.
Supporting Charis Cancer Care
This year’s event will also raise funds and awareness for Charis Cancer Care, which provides holistic and complementary therapies for individuals affected by cancer.
The organisation supports both men and women at every stage of their cancer journey, offering a range of services designed to improve wellbeing and quality of life during treatment and recovery.
By choosing Charis Cancer Care as the event’s charity partner, organisers hope the gathering will deliver benefits beyond the motoring community while helping support people and families affected by cancer across Northern Ireland.
What visitors can expect on the day
Classic Mini owners will begin arriving between 10am and 1pm as the castle grounds gradually fill with examples of the legendary British small car.
Judging will begin at 2pm, with a series of class awards recognising standout vehicles across the show.
The popular raffle and prize giving ceremony is scheduled to begin at 3pm before participating vehicles depart between 4pm and 5pm.
A finishers award is available for those who completed pre-entry registration before the June 28 deadline, while entries on the day are still being accepted for owners who missed advance registration.
Participation costs £15 per vehicle, with entry including free access for drivers and passengers to Glenarm Castle’s Walled Garden, Woodland Walk and Heritage Centre.
Charity run takes place the day before

The celebrations will begin even earlier with the return of the Classic Mini Charity Run on Saturday, July 4.
Participants will meet at Glenarm Car Park at 4.30pm before taking part in the charity drive in support of Charis Cancer Care.
The run has become an increasingly popular addition to the weekend and provides owners with an additional opportunity to showcase their vehicles while supporting the fundraising effort.
Growing popularity for specialist motoring events
The return of Minis at the Castle reflects the continued popularity of specialist vehicle events across Northern Ireland, where classic car communities remain particularly strong.
For Glenarm Castle Estate, the event also provides another opportunity to welcome visitors to one of County Antrim’s best-known visitor attractions while supporting a local charity and celebrating automotive heritage.
Although pre-entry registrations have now closed, organisers have confirmed that classic Mini owners can still register on arrival on Sunday.
Further information is available via the Norn Iron Classic Minis Facebook page or by contacting nornironclassicminis@gmail.com.
With sunshine hoped for and another large turnout expected, organisers are anticipating another memorable day among the castle courtyards for owners, enthusiasts and families alike.
