Met Office issues weather warning for wind affecting Northern Ireland


The Met Office has today issued a yellow weather warning for Northern Ireland saying strong winds may lead to transport disruption on Thursday.


The warning covers all of Northern Ireland and is effective from 8am to 2pm on Thursday 24 November.



A Met Office spokesperson commented:


"A spell of strong southerly winds will develop during Thursday morning, with gusts of 40-50 mph inland and perhaps briefly 60-70 mph along some exposed coasts, accompanied by a short period of heavy rain. Winds easing from the west during the late morning and early afternoon."
