Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Alderman Beth Adger MBE, would like to thank everyone across the Borough – including first responders, community representatives and Council staff - involved in responding to Storm Éowyn.

“As your Mayor, I want to take this moment to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who worked tirelessly during the recent storm and the clean-up operations which are currently ongoing. This is one of the worst storms we have seen for years, and it has caused extensive damage to many parks, buildings and homes.

“If you are still without electric or water, please avail of Council’s local Community Assistance Hubs and make use of the warm space to charge your phones/devices or have a shower (please bring own towel and toiletries). They are located at Seven Towers Leisure Centre, Ballymena; Larne Leisure Centre and Carrickfergus Amphitheatre Leisure Centre until 4pm today and from 10am-4pm tomorrow (26 January).

“We will continue to keep you updated on Council services and facilities following the storm here and on Council’s social media channels.

“Please stay safe – with upcoming Yellow warnings for wind, snow and ice today and tomorrow – there is still potential for further disruption.”
