Since new restrictions were announced across the whole of Northern Ireland almost two weeks ago, a number of hospitality businesses across Mid and East Antrim are now offering takeaway and delivery services.
During the lockdown in the earlier part of the year the businesses across the borough showed how they can adapt to the ever changing situation and it is no different this time round.
Council are throwing their full weight behind them and want all residents to do the same.
Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Councillor Peter Johnston, said: “We are calling on the local community to consider buying from local outlets when making purchasing decisions, especially in regards to hospitality sector.
“As we stay closer to home, a community-wide effort is needed to give our town centre and hospitality sector the boost they need to get through the winter.
“If you are looking for a takeaway or delivery then please remember to shop local and enjoy what’s on your doorstep.
“A small spend from each of us can have a giant impact on local businesses helping them survive the current pandemic and thrive into the future.”
