Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Councillor Peter Johnston, is joined by Chief Executive Anne Donaghy, Councillor John McDermott, Director of Community, Katrina Morgan as he congratulates Chief Superintendent Darrin Jones on his recent promotion

The Mayor of Mid and East Antrim has paid tribute to Superintendent Darrin Jones following his recent promotion to the role of Chief Superintendent.

Darrin has enjoyed over four years in the Mid and East Antrim District and will now be making his way to pastures new as he assumes his new position in the Derry and Strabane District.

Speaking at a reception held to mark the occasion, the Mayor, Councillor Peter Johnston said:

“I am delighted to congratulate Chief Superintendent Jones on this wonderful achievement but I am also sad to lose him from the area.

“Over the last few years he has established excellent working relationships with the Council and the local community and I say with confidence that he will be sorely missed.

“I am sure you will all join with me as we wish him every success in his new role and also give a very warm welcome to our new Superintendent, Michael Simpson, who is already well established in the Mid and East Antrim area and will continue this excellent work.”
