Mayor congratulates Golden Popcorn on success with Aldi

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Jim Montgomery has congratulated Golden Popcorn following news of their success in securing a £0.5m contract with Aldi.

The supplier of popcorn and crisps products moved to a purpose-built factory and office space in Antrim in February 2017, and have enjoyed considerable success with their focus on high quality ingredients recognised by multiple awards.

The Mayor said:

“Winning a contract of this size with one of the multiple retailers is a major achievement. Golden Popcorn has proven to be a recipe for success and I am very pleased to recognise this.”

“With strong distribution connectivity and quality production spaces, our Borough is well positioned to help ambitious companies like Golden Popcorn grow. The leadership team must be congratulated on keeping up to speed with changing tastes and spotting trends amongst consumers for healthier snacks which now will see them produce Aldi Ireland’s new Satin Crunch crisps.”
